The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterates the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's support for the efforts made by Egypt to reach a comprehensive political settlement in Libya, particularly the Cairo Initiative which was announced on June 6th 2020, which is consistent with all relevant international resolutions and putting Libya's national interest first, the Kingdom's government affirms its solidarity with the Arab Republic of Egypt in all measures taken to safeguard its security giving the fact that the security of Egypt is an integral part of the security of the Kingdom and the security of all Arab states. The Kingdom also affirms its support to the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi's remarks on the right to secure the western borders against terrorism. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia calls on the international community to assume its responsibilities and respond to the calls and initiative of President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi to reach a comprehensive solution that affirms the safety and security of Libyan lands, restores institutions and eliminates terrorism and extremist militias, and puts an end to illegal foreign interventions that fuel terrorism in the region.
