The Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture has obtained ISO 22301 Certificate for Business Continuity Management System (BCMS). With this regard, the ministry stated that the general department for information security in cooperation with the general department of information technology has implemented the business continuity system to ensure the continuity and sustainability of e-services that the ministry provides within the scope of the ministry's information security strategy. The Ministry confirmed that its obtaining of the ISO 22301 Certificate came after defining strategies and plans for responding to disasters and potential risks on its e-services, analyzing the implications of business interruption, in addition to assessing potential risks to the risk-management methodology adopted in the ministry on 90 services. Obtaining ISO 22301 Certificate for BCMS confirms the ministry's commitment to the highest levels of reliability in its services in accordance with the International Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) standards which are developed to provide protection for enterprises from disasters and potential crises. The International Organization for Standardization ( ISO) awards this certificate to entities that have succeeded in identifying and understanding the threats and risks and their effects on the business continuity, through adapting appropriate controls to address them before they occur or to reduce their negative effects.
