Asian stock markets were mixed Thursday, AP reported. The Shanghai Composite Index gained 0.1% to 2,886.60 while the Nikkei 225 in Tokyo shed under 0.1% to 20,583.95. The Hang Seng in Hong Kong was little-changed at 24,401.60. The Kospi in Seoul gained 0.5% to 1,999.69 and Australia's S&P-ASX 200 was off under 0.1% at 5,569.70. New Zealand was off 0.3% and Singapore was up less than 0.1%. In energy markets, benchmark U.S. crude rose 19 cents to $33.68 per barrel in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange. The contract gained $1.53 on Wednesday to $33.49. Brent crude added 29 cents to $36.04 per barrel in London. It rose $1.10 the previous session to $35.75. The dollar declined to 107.62 yen from Wednesday's 107.71 yen. The euro was unchanged at $1.0960.
