Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas. Al-Bilad newspaper reported in its editorial that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia continues its comprehensive efforts to confront the implications of the Coronavirus pandemic, as it called on the international community to take bold and immediate measures to reduce the loss of lives and accelerate efforts to contain the catastrophic impact of Coronavirus on humanity, affirming the importance of international cooperation in eradicating the pandemic. The paper added that since the early days of the virus's outbreak, the wise leadership's attention and directives focused on protecting human health and lives, as directives were issued to provide health care for all people in Saudi Arabia without exception, in addition to providing great support and contributions to many countries and international organizations. Al-Yaum newspaper reported in its editorial that the unprecedented and great support being provided by the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense for all government sectors in general and the health sector in particular to combat the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic has effectively contributed to mitigate its severe impacts. The paper added that the third stage of the expanded testing to assess the general rate of COVID-19 spreading in the Kingdom, launched by the Ministry of Health, comes as a continuation of the precautionary and preventive measures being taken to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus and to protect the health and safety of citizens and residents. The paper concluded that such efforts exerted by the Ministry of Health to carry out the active screening obviously indicate the unremitting support and care being provided by the leadership to enhance the capacity of the health sector in confronting this global pandemic.
