Special Envoy of the United Nations to Syria Geir Pedersen has announced that the parties of the Syrian conflict agreed to participate in Geneva meetings under the auspices of the United Nations to draft a constitution. In a press statement, Pedersen disclosed that the parties agreed the agenda of the next round of negotiations which will be held following the end of the COVID-19 epidemic crisis after the lifting of travel restrictions. "The spread of COVID-19 in Syria is limited. Most of the cases in Syria are emerged in the regime-controlled areas," he added, affirming that a virtual meeting of the constitutional committee would not be possible.
