A South African has been killed and a second injured in an explosion in Baghdad, a government spokesman was quoted as saying Wednesday. The two were driving in a convoy when the roadside explosion occurred Tuesday, the South African Press Association reported, foreign affairs spokesman Ronnie Mamoepa said. The victim was the ninth South African killed in Iraq this year.
