The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) has launched an interactive electronic platform for community solidarity, aimed at facilitating providing aid from donors to needy people by linking civil society components and institutions with the platform. The ALECSO said in a statement today that this initiative comes in view of the exceptional circumstances being experienced by Arab countries, as a result of the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, which led to imposing partial or total quarantine in most countries to limit the spread of the epidemic, causing many individuals to stop working and deterioration of economic situation of many families. The ALECSO pointed out that this platform comes within the framework of its contribution to reduce economic and social repercussions of the pandemic and aims to support civil society efforts to confront poverty and the spread of its social repercussions.
