The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques agreed to rename "Dar Al-Qalam" to "Prince Mohammad Bin Salman International Center for Arabic Calligraphy" after His Royal Highness Prince Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, based on a request presented by Minister of Culture, in appreciation of the efforts and continuous support of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince for the Arabic calligraphy, culture, and intellectuals. Based on what was stated in the royal order, the Ministry of Culture will supervise and develop the center in coordination with the King Abdulaziz Foundation For Research And Archives to become a global platform for Calligraphy and calligraphers from different countries of the world. The center contains a museum, exhibition, and institute of Arabic calligraphy. It also includes a meeting place for Arab and Muslim calligraphers. It is scheduled to turn into a leading global center for Arabic calligraphy, confirming the Kingdom's pioneering position as the supporter for Arabic calligraphy and calligraphers. The "Dar Al-Qalam Center" was opened in 2013 in Madinah to teach Arabic calligraphy and the new name of the center and the Kingdom vision 2030 reflect the unlimited support by the wise leadership to the cultural sector.
