The Deputy Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Manzalawi has stressed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia believes in the importance of cooperation in the principle of transparency between countries to reduce illicit financial flows and encourages various United Nations bodies to continue working and considering ways to address this phenomenon. He pointed out that the Kingdom's cooperation with the international community and organizations is clear in adhering to agreements and making the enhancement of the G20 countries' efforts in combating corruption and maintaining integrity a priority in its G20 presidency. This came in his speech in a recent virtual meeting between the UN member states and the High-level Panel on International Financial Accountability, Transparency and Integrity for Achieving the 2030 Agenda. Dr. Manzalawi highlighted the exerted efforts by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the field of combating corruption, transparency and integrity, stressing that combating corruption is an essential pillar to achieve the Kingdom's Vision 2030. The panel was briefed on member states' contributions on areas that could help them in mobilizing sufficient political support to address challenges facing the world in terms of financial accountability, transparency, integrity and anti-corruption and the priorities that countries consider important to enhance financial accountability, transparency and integrity in order to achieve the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.
