A string of bomb and gun attacks in northeastern India continued for a second day Sunday as blasts in a crowded market, a tea plantation and elsewhere killed three people and wounded another 18. Police blamed the violence, which left at least 53 dead and more than 100 wounded, on separatist rebels. Troops patrolled the streets in Nagaland state to prevent further bloodshed, while in western Assam state insurgents bombed an electrical tower, a local shop and a state-run gas pipeline.
