Under the chairmanship of Health Minister Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Follow-up Committee held its 55th meeting today. During the meeting, all relevant COVID-19 updates and reports were reviewed. The committee discussed the epidemiological situation globally, as well as the cases reported locally. All precautionary measures carried out at the points of entry into the Kingdom will continue in full and will be further enhanced, the committee stressed. The Committee praised the citizens and expatriates for abiding by the curfew, urging all to stay at home. Following the meeting, the committee held its daily briefing whereas Health Ministry Spokesman Dr. Mohammed Al-Abdulaali said the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases worldwide is more than 1,900,000 cases, out of which 462,000 have recovered. The COVID-19 death toll has jumped to 120,000, he announced. Dr. Al-Abdulaali said that 435 new cases were reported today in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, bringing to 5369 the accumulative number of COVID-19 infections. The COVID-19 death toll reached 73, he reported, adding that the number of recoverees reached 889.
