President of the Islamic Development Bank: Immediate responses from the multilateral development banks to the G20 Summit call to participate in the fight against the Corona epidemic and its implications
President of the Islamic Development Bank Group and Chairman of the Meetings of Presidents of Multilateral International Development Banks, Dr. Bandar Hajjar emphasized that the multilateral development banks have followed with great interest the work of the G20 Summit headed by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud which discussed ways to move forward in coordinating global efforts to combat the economic effects of the Corona pandemic, and to reduce its humanitarian and economic impacts. He pointed out that the closing statement of the summit dealt with the main risks and threats facing the world that arose as a result of the emergence of the Corona pandemic, which directly affected the global economy. He highlighted efforts in this regard and stated that the international multilateral development banks have moved rapidly since the outbreak of the epidemic, and held two virtual meetings of the heads of these banks to coordinate their response to the challenges arising from the spread of the epidemic on March 13 and 25, 2020.
