The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd bin Abdulaziz received at his office in Alsalam palace in Jeddah today Afghanistan's President Hamid Karzai. During the meeting, King Fahd wished Karzai good stay in the Kingdom. On his part, President Karzai thanked the monarch for his warm welcome and generous hospitality, wishing the Kingdom steady progress and prosperity. Karzai conveyed to the monarch the greetings of the government and people of Afghanistan who consider the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques a leader of the Islamic nation. President Karzai appreciated the support extended by the Kingdom for Afghanistan. The two sides reviewed the latest developments at the Islamic and international arenas, particularly the situation in Palestine and in Iraq and discussed aspects of cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Afghanistan. The meeting was attended by senior protocol officials and Karzai's accompanying delegation.
