Spain is preparing to ask Italy to extradite Rabei Osman al-Sayed, the suspected mastermind of the March 11 train bombings which killed 191 in Madrid, the daily El Pais said Thursday. The suspected terrorist, who is also called "the Egyptian", was detained in Milan in June. Italy was expected to agree to Spain's request. Al-Sayed would face first trial in Spain for March 11 and then in Italy for belonging to a terrorist association, according to El Pais. Nearly 20 other suspects in the train bombings, many of them Moroccans, are also in custody in Spain. --SP 1333 Local Time 1033 GMT
