A police vehicle hit a roadside bomb, triggering an explosion that killed one person and injured six in this city north of Baghdad, police and hospital officials said. The police were on patrol when the blast occurred at 10:00 a.m. (0600 GMT), police Lt. Alaa Kareem said. Two policemen were slightly injured, but the heaviest casualties were in a civilian car that was behind their vehicle, he said. One man was killed and four women were injured in that car.
