Early returns from Indonesia's presidential election Monday showed pre-poll favorite Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono taking an early lead, winning 55.42 percent of the first million ballots counted. Megawati received 42.5 percent of the votes counted so far, the General Election Commission said. The Associated Press said Opinion polls have predicted that Yudhoyono, a retired general who served as Megawati's senior security minister, would win a comfortable victory in the elections.
