The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud chaired the Cabinet's session held at Al-Yamamah Palace here today. At the outset of the session, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques briefed the Cabinet on official talks with Prime Minister of Greece Kyriakos Mitsotakis and the content of the telephone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin citing coordination of efforts between the Kingdom and Russia in order to achieve the stability of the oil market to serve global economic growth. The King also briefed the Cabinet on the telephone call with President Mahmoud Abbas of the State of Palestine citing the assertion of the Kingdom's steadfast stance on the Palestinian cause, the rights of the Palestinian people, supporting their options and fulfilling their hopes. The Minister of Media, Turki bin Abdullah Al-Shabanah, pointed out in a statement to the Saudi Press Agency after the session that the Cabinet reaffirmed the Kingdom's support for the efforts to reach a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian cause. The Cabinet noted great and pioneering efforts made by the Kingdom in supporting the brotherly Palestinian people and standing by their side in all international forums, including the Kingdom's presentation of the 2002 Arab Peace Initiative. It also expressed appreciation for the efforts of the American administration to develop a comprehensive peace plan between the two sides. The Cabinet affirmed that the Kingdom's support for efforts to advance negotiations confirms that the success of these efforts requires that their ultimate goal is to achieve a just and lasting solution that guarantees the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people. The Cabinet reviewed the unanimous decision of the Arab League Emergency Meeting of Foreign Ministers and the final statement of the Extraordinary Open-ended Executive Committee Meeting at the Level of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Member States. They emphasized the centrality of the Palestinian cause to the Arab and Islamic nation, the need to adhere to the peace process as a strategic option for the conflict, based on the two-state solution, in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions, the Arab Peace Initiative and adopted international references. The Cabinet reviewed the (Ouagadougou Declaration) issued at the end of the 15th Conference of the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Member States (PUIC) in Burkina Faso, citing affirmation of its adherence to the basic principles of the OIC, the continuation of positive and effective contributions to the development of the work of the United Nations and its specialized agencies, including establishing world peace and regional security, and rejection of all extremist ideas and terrorist acts that target many Islamic and non-Islamic countries. --More 16:01 LOCAL TIME 13:01 GMT 0012 www.spa.gov.sa/2030389
