The Ministry of Health (MOH) has intensified its health awareness efforts meant to address coronavirus. In line with its efforts, the ministry has explained, in an infographic recently posted on its Twitter account, how to protect oneself from the coronavirus by following five main guidelines. The guidelines include avoiding contact with the people suffering respiratory symptoms, maintaining personal hygiene, following coughing and sneezing etiquette, avoiding unsecured contact with animals in addition to urging people to cook animal products very well. MOH has also provided an overview of symptoms associated with the virus, including fever, cough and shortness of breath. In some cases, it might develop into pneumonia. The virus may also develop serious complications for those suffering immunodeficiency or chronic diseases. MOH called on anyone who experiences respiratory symptoms to stay at home, avoid contact with others, and refrain from traveling as long as the symptoms remain, as well as covering the mouth and nose with napkins when coughing or sneezing. The ministry also recommended washing the hands with water and soap for at least 20 seconds, or with alcohol disinfectants.
