The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has condemned in the strongest terms the terrorist attack that took place on 20 January 2020 in a local market in the villages of Nagraogo and Alamou in the province of Sanmatenga in Burkina Faso's north-central region, killing 32 people. The Secretary General of the OIC, Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen, expressed his condolences to the families of the victims, to the Government and people of Burkina Faso, wishing the wounded a speedy recovery. He expressed the OIC's support for the efforts of the Government of Burkina Faso in fighting terrorism. Dr. Al-Othaimeen also renewed the OIC's principled and steadfast stance against violence, extremism and terrorism in all their forms and manifestations.
