Police in Moscow detained a Chechen man who allegedly had a homemade explosive device, officials said Wednesday. The 26-year-old resident of the Chechen capital Grozny had 150 grams (5.2 ounces) of ammonite, a battery and a homemade detonator in a cardboard box, the Interfax news agency reported. Police detained him early Tuesday morning after discovering he had not registered with authorities, as required by law, a spokesman for Moscow police said. The spokesman provided no further details.
