Saudi General Authority for Statistics (GaStat) has won different awards in the Stevie Award 2019 in the New Products awards categories. GaStat won the first award for its efficient solutions represented in National Statistical Data Program "Masdar." The other award was for data and information sector represented in "innovation management and statistical development." This came during the 16th Annual International Business Awards Gala, Stevie Awards, which is considered as the world's premier business awards held in Vienna, Austria. The Stevie Awards were created in 2002 to honor and generate public recognition of achievements and positive contributions of organizations and working professionals worldwide. More than 4000 competitors representing more than 74 countries compete annually for these awards, and more than 250 professionals around the world participate in judging nominations. GaStat's win comes in line with its vision aiming to provide comprehensive, reliable, up-to-date statistics and value-added services in line with international standards and take the lead in developing a modern statistical sector. The National Statistical Data Program "Masdar" main objective is to build national statistical databases in GaStat, based on statistical data collected from all government entities producing statistical data, "Data Sources", to serve the statistical needs of the Kingdom and users of statistical data from government agencies, private sector, international organizations, research institutions and data users in general, thereby linking the "Producer" and the "Consumer" to statistical data. It is worth noting that GaStat is going through strategic transformation for the statistical development and it has adopted the main pillars of work through six major tracks including development of a client focus strategy, development and harmonization of products and services, improvement of processes and methodologies, improvement of the IT and infrastructure quality, dissemination of statistical culture and capacity building and structuring all General Authority for Statistics' functions, tasks and departments and move forward towards achieving institutional development and excellence.
