Asian shares were mixed Monday, AP reported. Japan's Nikkei 225 index was unchanged at 23,821.11, while the Hang Seng in Hong Kong also was flat, at 27,864.21. In South Korea, the Kospi was unchanged at 2,203.71. The Shanghai Composite index fell 1.2% to 2,968.20 and Australia's S&P ASX 200 gave up 0.5% to 6,785.10. Shares rose in Indonesia but fell in Singapore. Benchmark crude oil fell 30 cents to $60.14 a barrel in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange. It lost 74 cents to settle at $60.44 a barrel on Friday. Brent crude oil, the international standard, slid 26 cents to $64.94 per barrel. The dollar was flat at 109.40 Japanese yen on Friday. The euro strengthened to $1.1086 from $1.1073.
