The United States of America has imposed sanctions on two Iranian judges after accusing them of punishing Iranian citizens and other dual nationals for exercising their rights to freedom of speech, expression and gathering. The US Treasury said in a statement today: "Judges Abu Al-Qasim Salwati and Muhammad Mughithh oversaw the Iranian regime's abortion of justice in mock trials in which journalists, lawyers, political activists and members of Iranian ethnic and religious minorities were punished for exercising freedom of expression, and they were sentenced to lengthy prison terms, flogging, and even death sentences."
