The second edition of King Abdulaziz Falcon Festival kicked off today in Malham, North of Riyadh, during the period from December 1 to December 16, 2019, organized by the Saudi Falcons Club. The Saudi Falcons Club has allocated more than 21 million riyals as cash prizes for the winners. The Saudi Falcons Club aims to bring together falcons enthusiasts to exchange experience and knowledge among them in one place and time, and encourage them and provide support for this type of heritage hobbies, and the spirit of competition among them, in addition to introducing the cultural heritage of the people of the Arabian Peninsula, reflecting the Kingdom's interest in falconers and falcons especially since the Kingdom is one of the 11 countries included in the UNESCO's list of falcon-breeding countries, and home to different types of them, and an important corridor for other migratory birds. It is noteworthy that the first edition of the festival saw the Saudi Falcon Club officially entered Guinness Book of 1,723 falcons, the largest race for falcons in the world, and came to record this world record as a new Saudi achievement to become the most important international forum for falcons in the world.
