Former U.S. president Bill Clinton was discharged from a New York hospital Friday, four days after undergoing a quadruple heart bypass. A statement released by Clinton's office said he was in good spirits and was continuing his recovery at his home in Chappaqua, New York, with his family. It added he had taken short walks Friday in the hospital and at home. Clinton, 58, checked himself into hospital September 3 with chest pains. Doctors determined he had several blocked arteries that would almost certainly have caused a heart attack if not corrected. The subsequent surgery at New York's Presbyterian Hospital was described by the surgeons as successful and routine.
