Asian shares were mixed Tuesday, AP reported. Japan's benchmark Nikkei 225 advanced 0.4% to 23,373.32. Australia's S&P/ASX 200 gained 0.8% to 6,787.50. South Korea's Kospi slipped 0.1% to 2,121.35. Hong Kong's Hang Seng declined 0.1% to 26,954.85, while the Shanghai Composite was flat at 2,907.06. Benchmark crude oil fell 11 cents to $57.90 per barrel in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange. It rose 24 cents to $58.01 a barrel on Monday. Brent crude oil, the international standard, lost 10 cents to $62.52 a barrel. The dollar was flat at 108.93 Japanese yen. The euro was also unchanged, at $1.1013.
