Turkey's Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul said on Friday entry talks with the European Union could start before the end of the year if a key report due next month backs his country's bid to open them. "It has already been decided that we will start EU entry talks before the end of this year if the progress report is positive," Gul told a news conference in Latvia on a tour of the three Baltic states, all newcomers to the bloc, to drum up support for Ankara's EU bid. "Many people don't know this," he added.
