The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia stressed paramount importance of the technical cooperation program of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in the promotion and transfer of nuclear technology in peaceful uses for the sustainable development of all member states, especially the developing countries. Prince Abdullah bin Khalid bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, the Saudi ambassador to Austria and governor of the kingdom to IAEA said in a speech during the meetings of the Agency's Technical Cooperation and Assistance Committee, which is being held from 18-20 November in Vienna, that the successful implementation of IAEA's Technical Cooperation Projects is a shared responsibility, noting the agency's technical support for completing the development of infrastructure in the kingdom to enable atomic energy to contribute to the national energy sector. He said that King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center will organize an international conference of radiological medicine to be held in Riyadh from 9-13 February 2020, and that the kingdom will host a regional training program in the city of Riyadh entitled advanced techniques with practical training on the principles and fundamentals of the International Atomic Energy Agency to simulate nuclear power plants, to be held from 1-5 March 2020.
