The Saudi-Emirati Housing Council, one of the initiatives of the Integration Committee for Housing and Environment at the Saudi-Emirati Coordination Council, held its first session in Dubai in the presence of the Saudi Minister of Housing Majed bin Abdullah Al-Hogail and Emirati Minister of Infrastructure Development Dr. Abdullah Bin Mohammed Belhaif Al-Nuaimi. The first session discussed development and adoption of the mechanism of managing the Council by secretaries of the two countries to study the housing cycle, including supply, demand, beneficiary experience, regulations and legislations. It also discussed aspects of development of common needs and challenges. The formation of the Joint Housing Council aims to strengthen and consolidate frameworks of cooperation in the field of providing leading and distinctive housing services, through the exchange of expertise in all areas related to housing. Saudi Housing Minister said that he looks forward through the Council to study the way to achieve integration in providing leading housing and environmental solutions and programs that meet the aspirations of citizens in achieving housing stability for both countries. He also stressed the importance of benefiting from the experiences of both sides to come up with new initiatives and programs that optimize the investment of available resources and applying leading housing solutions to stimulate and develop the housing sector to achieve sustainability in housing projects.
