India and Pakistan have agreed to discuss "disengagement and redeployment" of forces on Siachen besides the proposed Srinagar-Muzaffarabad bus service and Iran-Pakistan-India gas pipeline. Indian External Affairs Minister K. Natwar Singh and his Pakistani counterpart Khurshid Mahmud Kasuri agreed to implement the decision of defence secretaries for expert-level talks on "disengagement and redeployment" of troops on Siachen, the world's highest battlefield, officials said. Both the sides are interested in such a step and would be looking for a mechanism that does not compromise their positions, the officials said after the conclusion of the two-day ministerial talks here. --SP 2243 Local Time 1943 GMT
