Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas expressed his pride of the Saudi team's arrival in Palestine, stressing that this visit reflects the historical relationship between Palestine and Saudi Arabia. During his meeting with the Saudi Arabia National Football Team in Ramallah today, the Palestinian President affirmed that "the historic and Islamic religious bond between the two countries is not new. Our relations with the Kingdom are historic since the beginning of the Palestinian Cause. The Kingdom's stances are not changed since the late King Abdulaziz Al Saud, the founder, until the era of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and HRH the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The Palestinian Cause is at the heart of every Saudi." For his part, Yasser Al-Misehal, President of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation, mentioned the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud's quote "the Palestinian Cause is the Kingdom's first issue", asserting that all Saudis feel the importance of the Palestinian Cause. Al-Misehal affirmed that this visit is historic, thanking the Palestinian officials for a good reception and warm hospitality.
