Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Premier and Commander of the National Guard, received a telephone call today from President Jacques Chirac of France who expressed thanks to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and appreciation for the noble stand extended by the Saudi leadership, government and people as well as Muslim scholars towards the issue of the two French journalists kidnapped in Iraq. During the conversation, President Chirac said this position is not strange and that Islamic religion never accepts such behavior. He also dealt with the situations in the region and the distinguished relations binding the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of France and ways of enhancing them in all fields. On his part, Crown Prince Abdullah thanked the president for his good feelings, confirming that the kind Islamic Sharia categorically rejects and will never accept such behavior as Islam is the religion of tolerance and peace and since all religions, ethics and humanitarian principles never accept them. Crown Prince Abdullah reiterated the keenness of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to enhance the ties of relations and friendship between the two friendly countries.
