United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Mark Lowcock thanked today Saudi Arabia for its generous support of $ 500 million to fund the 2019 Humanitarian Response Plan in Yemen. Lowcock said that the money will be channeled to WFP, WHO, UNICEF, IOM, UNHCR, UNDP and FAO to support key priorities in the humanitarian response plan and save millions of lives, stressing the effectiveness of the partnership with the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center in providing aid and help those affected, which led to prevent the spread of famine and the decline of the cholera epidemic.
