In a statement by Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Minister of Energy, on the results of the attacks on Abqaiq and Khurais plants on Saturday 15 Muharram 1441H, corresponding to 14 September 2019, he confirmed that the kingdom's production of ethane gas has now reached 900 million standard cubic feet per day, while the current total domestic demand is 940 million standard cubic feet per day, thus the current percentage of ethane's undersupply is only 5.4%. He pointed out that the operation of the natural gas liquids plant in the Shaybah field tonight will lead to the ability to meet the entire domestic demand by the end of this week, without any reduction in the supply of ethane to local companies and factories. He also pointed out that for the supply of natural gas, ie propane, butane and natural gasoline, is now possible to meet the entire domestic demand without any reduction in supplies. He added that the current production quantities of natural gas liquids amounted to about 880 thousand barrels per day, compared with the volume of domestic demand of 792 thousand barrels per day, noting that with the operation of natural gas liquids plant in the Shaybah field, production will reach 960 thousand barrels per day, by the end of this week. At the end of his statement, the Minister of Energy thanked the Saudi Aramco team for their continuous work to restore production capacity, stressing that what has been achieved so far is an exceptional achievement by all standards and confirms the reliability of the Kingdom as an energy supplier in the global market.
