Advanced Electronics Company signs teaming agreement with L3Harris Technologies to collaborate on rotorcraft simulators
Published in Saudi Press Agency on 12 - 09 - 2019

Advanced Electronics Company, a Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI) company, announced today that it has signed a teaming agreement with L3Harris Technologies to collaborate on different rotorcraft simulators within Saudi Arabia. The agreement was signed during their participation in the Defense and Security Equipment International (DSEI) 2019 exhibition, which kicked off today at ExCeL London.
His Excellency Ahmed Al-Khateeb, Chairman of Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI), Mr. Abdulaziz Al-Duailej, President and CEO of AEC, and Dr. Andreas Schwer, CEO of SAMI, and Lenny Genna, President of L3Harris Military Training, were present at the signing ceremony.
Commenting on the teaming agreement, Abdulaziz Al-Duailej, President and CEO of AEC, said: "We are pleased to partner with L3Harris Technologies to further our credentials in rotorcraft simulation as part of our military and defence capacity-building efforts. The agreement will allow AEC to leverage the unmatched expertise of two major industry leaders combined to deliver on Saudi Arabia's ambitious goals, including localizing 50 percent of its military and security spending and creating new employment opportunities in the country as envisaged in the Saudi Vision 2030, through the transfer of technology and know-how. SAMI, AEC, and L3Harris Technologies will work closely together to explore new avenues of collaboration opportunities to contribute to the development of a self-sufficient military industries sector in the Kingdom."
On his part, Lenny Genna, President, L3Harris Military Training, said: "L3Harris and AEC are expanding our more than nine-year relationship to bring advanced training and simulation technologies to the Royal Saudi Armed Forces fleet. This collaboration will help to enhance flight safety and operational performance, and improves cost efficiency."
AEC is showcasing its diversified portfolio of Avionics, Electronics, Electronic Warfare, and C4ISR at DSEI, under the umbrella of SAMI. AEC's flagship cybersecurity solutions such as Security Operations Center (SOC) and Security Information and Anti-Drone System (UAV) and Event Management (SIEM) as well as advanced military fleet management technologies including MADAR and Air Observation System (AOS) will be on display at its booth at the world-leading defence and security event. In addition, the company will also highlight its Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) and Typhoon avionics repair capabilities during the four-day exhibition.
The new partnership between AEC and L3Harris Technologies builds on a joint venture agreement between SAMI and L3 Technologies during the Paris Air Show earlier this year.
