Asian stocks were mixed Wednesday, AP reported. The Shanghai Composite Index lost 0.3% to 2,892.92 and Tokyo's Nikkei 225 advanced 0.1% to 20,484.52. Hong Kong's Hang Seng was off 4 points at 25,671.24. Seoul's Kospi gained 0.9% to 1,942.75 and Sydney's S&P-ASX was 0.4% higher at 6,498.20. India's Sensex shed 0.3% to 37,541.36. New Zealand and Jakarta advanced while Singapore retreated. Benchmark U.S. crude gained 53 cents to $55.46 per barrel in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange. The contract rose $1.29 on Tuesday to close at $54.93. Brent crude, used to price international oils, added 40 cents to $59.43 per barrel in London. It advanced 91 cents the previous session to $59.03. The dollar advanced to 105.84 yen from Tuesday's 105.76 yen. The euro declined to $1.1088 from $1.1092.
