German postal company Deutsche Post is aiming to acquire the complete 25 per cent stake in Post Danmark, which the Danish parliament has approved for sale, the magazine Focus reported. In its latest issue due to appear on Monday, the Munich-based weekly cited Deutsche Post officials in Bonn as saying an offer will be made by September 6 for the stake. The Danish postal company has been cooperating with Deutsche Post subsidiary DHL in parcel services since the fall of 2003, the report noted. Post Danmark, with 22,000 employees, achieved turnover of over 1.4 billion euros (1.68 billion dollars) in 2003, with pre-tax profits of 63 million euros.
