Asian stock markets fell Thursday, AP reported. The Shanghai Composite Index lost 0.7% to 2,908.87 and Tokyo's Nikkei 225 tumbled 2.14% to 21,010.48. Hong Kong's Hang Seng retreated 0.6% to 28,414 and Seoul's Kospi was 0.38% lower at 2,064.94. Indian Senxex lost 0.2% to 39126.40. Sydney's S&P-ASX 200 shed 0.5% to 6,639.30 and Southeast Asian markets also retreated. Benchmark U.S. crude lost 8 cents to $56.70 per barrel in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange. The contract fell 84 cents on Wednesday to close at $56.78. Brent crude, used to price international oils, advanced 6 cents to $63.72 in London. It lost 69 cents the previous session to $63.66. The dollar declined to 107.68 yen from Wednesday's 107.98 yen. The euro gained to $1.1242 from $1.1226.
