Asian shares were mixed Wednesday, AP reported. Japan's benchmark Nikkei 225 edged down nearly 0.2% to finish at 21,533.48. Australia's S&P/ASX 200 added 0.4% to 6,689.80. South Korea's Kospi gained 0.3% to 2,058.78. Hong Kong's Hang Seng rose 0.3% to 28,201.31, while the Shanghai Composite fell 0.5% at 2,914.66. Benchmark crude oil added 83 cents to $58.76 a barrel. It gained 17 cents to $57.83 a barrel Tuesday. Brent crude oil, the international standard, rose 71 cents to close at $64.87 a barrel. The dollar rose to 108.92 Japanese yen from 108.82 yen. The euro stood at $1.1210, up from $1.1203.
