Suspected Maoist rebels detonated a bomb on a Katmandu highway on Monday, as guerrillas isolated the capital from the rest of the country for a sixth day to press demands for the release of government-held insurgents. No one was wounded. Earlier Monday, three suspected rebels gunned down a businessman in Katmandu. Police were investigating the motive, but said the slaying resembled earlier killings by the rebels, who are known to target people who oppose them. The explosion took place near a government building by the Arniko highway, a road which is popular with tourists because it's the only land route to Tibet. The blast damaged the building, but caused no injures, police said.
