Italian officials hunted Sunday for information on the fate of a freelance journalist who has been missing in Iraq for several days. The last reported contact of Enzo Baldoni, who went to Iraq for the news magazine Diario, was Thursday, when he was traveling to the southern city of Najaf. Fears of a kidnapping increased after reports Saturday that Baldoni's interpreter had been found killed. Press officials at the Foreign Ministry and the Italian Red Cross, which is working in Iraq, both said Saturday they had no fresh information on Baldoni's fate.
