Spain today strongly denounced the terrorist Houthi militia attack on Abha airport, of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on June 23, killing one person and injuring more than 20 others. In a statement, the foreign ministry of the Kingdom of Spain said this repeated crime against civilians, adopted by the Yemen-based Houthi militia, is absolutely unacceptable as it contributes to aggravating the tension in the region. The government of Spain also expressed solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and confirmed need to solve the conflict in Yemen through peaceful means and support of the efforts of the UN special envoy to Yemen Martin Griffith to implement Stockholm arrangement which was reached in December 2018.
