Juventus midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur has signed a two-year contract extension that will keep him at the club until 2024, the Italian Serie A champions said on Saturday, according to Reuters. The 21-year-old Uruguay international, who joined Juventus during the 2017-18 campaign, made 40 appearances in all competitions last season to help them seal an eighth straight league crown. "Rodrigo Bentancur has officially extended his Juventus stay by penning a contract, which will tie him to the club until 2024," Juventus said on their website. "Bentancur has shown he can be a dependable, intelligent and an agile midfielder, who demonstrates his class each time he steps onto the pitch," it added. Earlier on Saturday, Sky Italy reported that Netherlands teenage center back Matthijs de Ligt had agreed a deal to join Juventus and become new head coach Maurizio Sarri's first signing of the close season.
