Speaker of Jordan's House of Representatives and Head of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union (AIPU) Atef Tarawneh received in Amman today a delegation of the Saudi side of the Saudi-Jordanian Parliamentary Friendship Committee, led by Saudi Shura Council member Saleh bin Manee Al-Khelaiwi, in the framework of the current delegation's formal visit to Jordan. At the outset of the meeting, Tarawneh praised the bilateral relations between the two countries and the level of the bilateral parliamentary cooperation. For his part, Al-Khelaiwi affirmed the importance of developing bilateral relations between the two countries and between the Jordanian House of Representatives and Saudi Shura Council to serve the common interests of both countries and peoples. The meeting was attended by Prince Khalid bin Faisal bin Turki, Saudi Ambassador to Jordan, and a number of delegation members. On the other hand, the head of the Foreign Affairs Committee of Jordan's House of Representatives Dr. Nidal Al-Ta'an held a meeting here today with the Saudi delegation. During the meeting, Dr. Al-Ta'an praised the development of the historical relations between the two countries, which reflected the positive results of the joint meetings at the level of senior officials of both countries. Later, the head of the Jordanian-Saudi Parliamentary Friendship at the Jordanian House of Representatives Dr. Khair Abu Saailek met here today with the Saudi delegation. During the meeting, he expressed his thanks to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for the success of the three summits held in Makkah, stressing that Jordan stands by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in taking all measures carried out against the Iranian-backed Houthi threats, stressing the deep bilateral relations between the two countries. The meeting was attended by members of the Saudi-Jordanian Parliamentary Friendship Committee at the House of Representatives.
