Google slashes IPO, moves closer to pricing shares 3 NEW

Google said it expects to close the auction after its registration statement gets the green light from regulators. The changes cut Google's potential maximum market capitalization to $25.8 billion from $36.6 billion, compared with chief competitor and investor Yahoo Inc.'s market value of $37.8 billion.
