The Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations, Ambassador Abdullah bin Yahya Al-Mouallimi, met here yesterday evening with the Executive Coordinator of the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme, Olivier Adam. At the outset of the meeting, the Executive Coordinator presented a detailed explanation of the mechanism and objectives of the UNV's programme, its goals and humanitarian and relief programmes that it carries out, noting that the number of volunteers enrolled in the program exceeded 7,000 volunteers from all over the world, hoping that the programme would include some Saudi volunteers.. During the meeting, Ambassador Al-Mouallimi praised the efforts being exerted by the UNV's Programme and welcomed the strengthening of cooperation with the programme to achieve common interests, stressing that KSAs' vision aims to develop the field of volunteering and raise the number of volunteers to one million volunteers before the end in 2030. The meeting was attended by a number of officials.
