Iraq's Defense Minister Hazim al-Shaalan expects a "decisive battle" on Wednesday in a stand-off between U.S. troops and rebel Shi'ite militiamen in the holy city of Najaf, Al Arabiya television said. The pan-Arab satellite station, which flashed the report on its screen, was quoting its correspondent in Najaf. It did not give any more details.
