President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Dr. Arif Alvi, received at the presidential palace in Islamabad today the Imam of the Grand Holy Mosque in Makkah, Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Awwad Al-Juhani, within the framework of his visit to Pakistan. President Alvi welcomed the Imam of the Grand Mosque and the delegation of the Kingdom, who participated in the "Message of Islam" conference under the chairmanship of the Undersecretary of the Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance for Islamic Affairs Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Samil. President Alvi said that Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations with the Kingdom, pointing out that they are brotherly relations based on common religious and cultural factors. He added that these relations are characterized by consensus on regional and international issues, as well as the common desire of the two countries to address the challenges facing the Islamic Nation. He praised the Kingdom's efforts being exerted by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and HRH Crown Prince to take care of the Two Holy Mosques, the excellent services being provided for pilgrims and Umrah performers every year and positive roles being played by the Kingdom in supporting regional security and stability. The Pakistani President expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Kingdom for its stand with Pakistan and its people in all circumstances and difficult times, especially the recent economic support provided by the Kingdom to support the Pakistani economy. For his part, Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Awwad Al-Juhani, thanked the Pakistani President for his noble feelings towards the Kingdom's leadership and people. The meeting was attended by Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Maliki and a number of senior Pakistani officials.
