Isam Abid Al-Thaqafi, Saudi ambassador to the Republic of Indonesia, affirmed that the current visit being paid by President Joko Widodo of the Republic of Indonesia to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and his meeting with the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud are considered an extension of fraternal relations and mutual visits between the two leaderships in order to enhance cooperation in all fields. In a press statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), ambassador Al-Thaqafi recalled that Saudi Indonesian historical relations were established in 1948, citing that the two countries share a number of principles and values, including the desire to achieve international security and stability, non-interference in others internal affairs, respect of other's culture, observe continuous dialogue to enhance mutual understanding in addition to joint consultation and coordination with regard to the relevant issues through their membership in international organizations. He stressed that the Kingdom is always keen to enhance relations with Indonesia in all fields.
