Pakistan's Religious Affairs Ministry has extended the last date for submission of Hajj applications under the government and private schemes till August 16, an official statement said. This has been done in view of the fact that a large number of Hajj applicants have applied for Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs) but the National Database and Registration Authority has not yet issued CNICs to them, the statement said. Earlier, the last date for submission of Hajj applications was fixed August 10. The private Hajj group organizers are required to deposit Hajj applications with the Hajj Directors concerned by August 17 positively, the statement said. However, the banks will accept Hajj applications till 16 of this month.
